The following have accepted our invitation to participate in the Women of the Third Millennium Forum:
Leading figures of the intellectual landscape, nationally and internationally known, will present their vision on the issues considered at the Forum, in different planned conferences and roundtables.
WRITER and HUMANIST
Recognized as one of the most interesting voices of the Spanish narrative, her first novel “Ireland” won the Millepages Prize in France.
In 1999, she won the Premio Planet (Planet Award for her novel "Melocotones helados" (Cold Peaches”), making her the youngest writer ever to achieve this recognition.
MAs a multifaceted author, the universal dimension of human subjects treated in her novels prove her to be an essential speaker for the Forum, in order to address the emotional and psychological aspects of human nature involved in happiness, peace and social justice.
She is also a columnist and a regular contributor to the mainstream media, including Onda Cero, Publico, El Pais, El Mundo and La Razon.
DIRECTOR OF FORUM ON WOMEN FOR THE THIRD MILLENNIUM
Director of Forum on Women for the 3rd Millennium and founder of Mujeres Felices, considered essential for the role of women in social progress, from the female impulse for a better world. In her opinion, only from a better balance between male and female principles, strength and sensitivity, present in all women and men, we will achieve our full potential of human power and happiness.
Her commitment to the defense of the rights of women, their empowerment, and contribution to social progress, inspired her drive in founding the organization Bibir AFRICA to the fight against FGM- Female Genital Mutilation in Burkina Faso, which carries out reconstructive surgery for the victims and performs awareness campaigns throughout the villages.
SCIENTIST and SOCIAL ENTREPENEUR
She received her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Department of Chemistry at the University of Valencia, as well as an honorary Ph.D. from Anáhuac University in Mexico. She has spent her career developing sophisticated technology using her own polymeric microencapsulation technique to eradicate deadly diseases that spread due to poverty. Currently she is the president of INESFLY CORPORATION. Along with her scientific investigations, she has carried out various social projects to improve the quality of life in vulnerable communities around the world. She is the president of MOMIM (Indigenous Women of the World Movement) and the PILAR MATEO FOUNDATION. She is the founder of the social enterprise WOMAN TO WOMAN BY PILAR MATEO, and cofounder of the audiovisual production company FILMÁNTROPO.
As a film director, screenwriter and producer formed professionally in Hollywood, she is committed to human rights, and especially to women’s rights. Her acclaimed documentary “Voices of Mozambique,” has been followed by many other projects, including “Voices for Peace,” that are focused on social progress.
AWARD-WINNING JOURNALIST AND WRITER
Mariane is the author of “A Mighty Heart: The Brave Life and Death of My Husband Daniel Pearl”, a detailed account of the investigation led in Pakistan to rescue her husband Danny kidnapped by a terrorist group. The book won international praise and was translated into 16 languages. In 2007, it was released as a major feature movie starring Angelina Jolie in the role of Mariane Pearl. Her second book, “In Search of Hope” is a collection of profiles of extraordinary women around the world.
She is currently the Managing Editor of CHIME FOR CHANGE global journalism platform that focuses on helping women and girls speak for themselves.
CINEMA DIRECTOR and HUMAN RIGHTS ACTIVIST
Recognized as one of the best documentary on human rights, she began her career as a film director with the film " Voces contra la trata de mujeres" denouncing the buying and selling of women and girls in Eastern Europe for sexual exploitation, in what is known as "slavery of the century". Since then, in her deep commitment to the problems and challenges of women, she has made the films " La teoría del espiralismo" and " Las sabias de la tribu" and other film whose excellence has been recognized in many competitions and awards. More recently, " Chicas nuevas 24 horas" has been acclaimed worldwide for its rigor and clarity.
ISABEL DE CASAS
UNIVERSITY SPECIALIST in EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE
A law school graduate, her interest in developing human potential in business and work drove her to become one of the pioneers of life coaching in our country. She worked for many of the first Spanish coaching companies as a Senior Executive-Coach and trainer in areas of personal development and management, gender diversity and equality, business culture and negotiation, communications expert, development of emotional competencies and creativity and innovation.
Currently she is an associate professor at IEDE Business School and Universidad Europea de Madrid, as well as a teacher of Masters in Coaching and Emotional Intelligence at Universidad de Alcalá de Henares and Universidad de Navarra.
PHILOSOPHER and ORIENTALIST
He is the author of over a dozen books on philosophy, orientalist and meditation and has a doctorate in philosophy. During his years in India, he lived in the Ashram of Sri Aurobindo, where he deepened his understanding in the philosophy and yoga of that great master.
He is the founding member of the Society of Indic and Oriental Studies, as well as the Spanish Transpersonal Association. He has also been a member of the Advisory Council of the Parliament of the World’s Religions (Barcelona, 2004).
He is currently a member of the Spanish Society of Religious Sciences and is a professor at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the University of Barcelona.
These are powerful women who are still unknown to the public at large, but their personal stories of courage and humanity will move us all emotionally. After a brief introduction, in a 20 minute presentation, these women will share the experiences that helped them overcome the challenges posed by life or during their lives. Beyond the hardships, they will share the positive things they learned from these experiences, giving everyone the opportunity to learn with them.
SPANISH WOMAN PAINTER MOST SOUGHT
Born in Barcelona in a gipsy Raval neighborhood. Her mother was a prostitute who abandoned her when she was only three months old, leaving her in the custody of her grandmother. Homeless until the age of missing school, she made her way through life by begging, until she was placed in an orphanage.
Her life took an unexpected turn at the age of 13, when she was adopted. Despite being dyslexic and illiterate, she quickly reached the educational level of children her age.
But what changed her life forever was visiting the Prado Museum, which awakened her artistic vocation.
The courses she took on drawing and painting, and, above all, her innate talent for visual arts, led her to become the most valued Spanish painter internationally. She is ranked at 333 of the top 500 contemporary artists.
JOURNALIST and WRITER
Journalist, human rights advocate and author of twelve books, was released after the publication of "Demons of Eden," denouncing the plots of collusion between political power and child pornography rings in Mexico. Following this event she was illegally detained in Quintana Roo by town’s police members, uncovering a scandal, after which her life was threatened by death, and was forced to temporarily leave Mexico, one of the most dangerous countries in the world for journalistic work.
An example of courage and passion for truth, she has been recognized by some of the most important awards in the world in the field of journalism and human rights.
CHEF with TWO MICHELIN STARS
Dominican by birth, she came to Spain as an immigrant. She found work at the prestigious restaurant Club Allard as a dishwasher. But since childhood, her vocation was clear, her passion was the kitchen.
When she was given her first opportunity to show her talent, she didn’t waste it. It was a double shift, one cooking and the other with her usual dish-washing duties. She managed to show her talent, becoming head chef in 2011. That same year, the Club Allard received their second Michelin star. Mary continued to evolve until she was offered the position as head chef of the restaurant, after the departure of Diego Guerrero. She had fulfilled her dream.
By maintaining her heritage and using her creativity and desire for improvement, she has created a menu that is a tribute to beauty and taste. Without being extravagant, surprisingly, Mary does not serve food at the Club Allard, she serves art.
ADVOCATE FOR ABUSED WOMEN
Creator of the Ana Bella Foundation which helps battered women, she herself is a survivor of physical and psychological abuse to which she was subjected by her husband for over eleven years. "Ours is love or death," she said. One day after an episode of extreme violence, she saw a sign entitled "Break the silence", memorized the phone number and called it at night. She went to a shelter with her four children in order to start a new life. After doing this, she wanted to help other women in the same situation, creating a network of women survivors.
She has been recognized with numerous awards and honors for her work, including the social entrepreneur and Ashoka Social Innovation Vision Award in Berlin.
Prestigious artists in their various specialties and committed to the objectives of the Forum, will offer short and impressive performances based on women to all participants at the event.
These performances will take place on specific moments, between presentations and roundtables, inviting everyone to feel and experience the event, also with various performing arts from great exponents with different sensitivities and perceptions on women
This American choreographer, teacher and dancer has resided in Spain since 1992. She is recognized internationally as one of the best belly dancers. She is considered one of the pioneers of Arabic dance in Spain, and she founded and directed the first specialized academy: Sarabi. Her passion for dance has taken Deborah to perform in four continents and to experiences like teaching that the most famous belly dance festival in the world, “Ahlan wa Sahlan,” in Cairo.
SINGER and ACTRESS
Ms Cornejo has been using the performing arts as a tool to healing, remodel and personal and social development with women adults and teenagers living at risk, since young age. She is the founder of Women of Steel where she investigates feminine archetypes and contemporary holy art. Her performance at M3M Forum will dispute the current feminine stereotypes as way to connect with each other’s beauty in a sensible, strong and humorous style.
HOUSE MUSIC VOCALIST
As a house music vocalist and electronic music pioneer in Spain, her musical trajectory is market by great hits and awards in recognition of her creations and musical interpretations. She is a woman with a unique and powerful voice, which never fails to surprise and amaze her audiences, she is a great example of pure strength and feminine sensibility.
Rebekka will give a performance worthy of her brilliant career.
This young poet, born in Segovia in 1992, has shocked the world with her poems, which focus on love and women. She is starting to share the national and international stage with artists such as Joaquin Sabina, Benjamin Prado, Jorge Drexler, Ruben Pozo and Leonor Watling.
Her visceral and direct poetry is responsible for the success of her first book “Forty-Three Ways to Let Your Hair Down” and the other two that followed, “Bastion” and “No One is Silent Anymore.

SINGER and ACTRESS
Singer, actress, and TV presenter, she rose to fame after becoming a finalist of Operation Triumph. Adrenalin is the last of the six albums she has released, becoming one of the most outstanding Spanish vocalists. Chosen to represent our country at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest, she staged a memorable performance in the Wiener Stadthalle auditorium in Vienna. Edurne also starred in the musical tour of Grease and participated in various musical TV programs, and is also presenter, alongside Xavi Rodriguez, “Todo va bien de Cuatro.” In 2016, in addition to the release of her album Adrenalin, she has been on the judging panel for Spain’s Got Talent on Tele5.
Chosen by music critics as one of the best voices in the world, she has one of the largest and most powerful vocal registers, characterized by a great power, timbre, and tessitura reaching a complete range by hitting some of the highest octaves.
This restless artist has also carried out important duets with artists such as Riccardo Cocciante, Luciano Pavarotti, Mina, Tom Jones, Al Bano, and Rocío Jurado.
Since 1994, she has sold almost 9 million copies, mainly in Europe and America, and has won numerous awards, including three World Music Awards (1996, 1998 and 2010).
In recent years, she has combined her musical side with a brilliant career in television, where she has earned the affection of the public and is currently considered one of the most important faces of the entertainment media.
She graduated with a degree in audiovisual communication and has been a television host on different channels, like Curator, La Sexta, TV3 and TV2, and has become one of the most well known faces in television. She is an exceptional woman with a deep commitment to the defense of the rights of women and social progress.
